Human Sculptures
Pair up. One of you will be the sculptor, and the other will be the sculpture!
The sculptor must “create” the final “sculpture” by very gently moving his or her partner’s limbs, face, neck, head, back and waist into a sculpturally interesting shape or series of shapes. Be conscious of negative shapes, and of line that changes direction. (The position must be sustainable and, of course, not hurt your partner!)
Then, when you have looked at your “sculpture” from all sides, and found it pleasing to look at, swop and take the opposite roles.
Talk About This
How did it feel to be the sculptor? And to be the sculpture? Were you surprised by any of the shapes you could create? Did you create any interesting negative shapes?
